DHL continues its Asian history

DHL continues its Asian historyDHL continues its Asian history.

In anticipation of the continued strong growth in Asia-Pacific, and the North Asia region in particular, DHL plans to pump more than US$110 million into its China business in the next few years, and has committed to invest more than US$90 million in Japan and up to US$75 million in Korea.

This is in addition to the nearly US$1 billion that DHL has already invested in the Greater China region, which accounts for over half of its more than US$1.7 billion investment in Asia-Pacific between 2001 and 2006.

Dr Klaus Zumwinkel, chairman of the board of management of DHL`s parent company, Deutsche Post World Net, said that the company’s investments include a robust network infrastructure for the express and logistics industry in China and Asia-Pacific, as well as sharing expertise, capability and knowledge.

“We are committed to maintaining this momentum, and playing an active role in moving China and the region up the value chain of the logistics industry globally,” he said.
