In 2005, Belorussia and Ukraine have doubled machinery turnover comparing to 2004. It was reported in Minsk at a business forum of Belorussian and Ukrainian industrial companies. The forum was organised by Belorussian deputy minister of industry Gennady Svidersky and Ukrainian deputy minister of industrial policy Valery Tretyakov.
As mentioned at the forum, activation in commerce between two countries’ enterprises contributed to realization of intergovernmental agreement of cooperation signed in October 2005. Today, export-import supplies are practically balanced. Belorussian machinery manufacturers in 2005 increased import of components from Ukraine and, consequently, increased the supply of machinery products to the neighbor country.
Generally, commodity turnover between Belorussia and Ukraine in 2005 ammounted to $1.8 bln and increased by 66.1% compared to 2004. Within the framework of production cooperation, today over 120 Belorussian and Ukrainian enterprises work together, and this number tends to grow in 2006.
Such Belorussian enterprises as Minsk tractor plant, OJSC “Bobruiskagromash” and “Mogilevliftmash” continue their successful operation in Ukraine.
