Today the government of the Russian Federation has approved the measures aimed at development of the domestic agricultural machinery. As noted by chief of Ministry of Industry and Energy Victor Khristenko, today’s support of agricultural goods manufactures with the required equipment is 50-70%. According to the Minister, to avoid the further reduction of the agricultural equipment fleet it is necessary to have 45 thousand tractors to the amount of 25 billion rubles, 17 thousand harvester-threshers to the amount of 30 billion rubles and other agricultural machinery and equipment to the amount of 35 billion rubles annually supplied to the agricultural sector.
One of the measures proposed is development of the department purpose-oriented programs aimed at the increase of the sector technology level. In particular, activity schedule draft for 2006-2008 foresees development and realization of 5 department purpose-oriented programs with total financing backup of 1,07 billion rubles as per Research and Development. Moreover, it is foreseen to increase competitiveness of the domestic agricultural machinery, innovative and investment activities of the enterprises, development of sales markets and etc.
