California to introduce low-sulfur diesel
Retailers in California must begin selling ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel Friday, making it the first state to require its sale.
The Friday implementation deadline will give the state a jump on the rest of the country, which must begin selling the fuel by Oct. 15 per an Environmental Protection Agency deadline.

Shanghai to become world’s hydrogen capital
By 2010 first thousand on hydrogen-driven vehicles will be produced in Shanghai.
The project gained support from China’s Ministry of Science and Technology and Administration of Shanghai. The date is chosen intentionally – in 2010, World Expo will be held in Shanghai, which is considered the event of decade for the city.

US scientists: still no substitute for gasoline
First profound research of full cycle of utilization of biodiesel fuel received from soy and ethanol from corn, initiated by US National Scientific Academy (NSA), displayed that biodiesel is less harmful for environment that ethanol and energetically more profitable.

Cat to build first official plant in China
Caterpillar and the Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee (SIPAC) have signed an investment agreement to build a new wheel loader manufacturing facility in the Suzhou Industrial Park in "s Jiangsu province. The new 350,000-square-foot production facility will be wholly owned and operated by Caterpillar.
