The new Wirtgen road milling machine model W60 presented at Bauma has a milling depth of 30 cm and a standard milling width of 60 cm, making it the ideal machine for trench and channel construction. A strong engine with an output of 155 kW guarantees powerful advance speed at maximum milling depth, thus ensuring high milling performance. These features and an operating weight of 13,250 kg make the W 60 ideally suited for milling large surfaces and for removing entire pavement packages at full depth. Tie-ins can also be milled accurately with this versatile deep milling machine. The W 60 is available as a 3-wheeled or – at the customer`s request – as a 4-wheeled model.
A 6-cylinder Deutz turbo diesel engine with electronic controller makes the W60 a power package ensuring high daily production and optimum milling results at economic fuel consumption rates. The engine is mounted elastically to reduce the propagation of noise and vibrations. It complies with the strict requirements of the exhaust emission standards stipulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, Tier III) and the EU (Stage III).
The loading concept of the W 60 impresses with its high capacity. The loading conveyor was increased in width to 500 mm and has a capacity of up to 115 m3/h, thus ensuring swift transport of the milled material.
