Up-Dated Dash for Peterbilt Medium-Duty Lineup
Peterbilt (USA) announced that it will update its complete conventional medium-duty lineup of vehicles with a new dash featuring an enhanced ergonomic instrumentation layout, enhanced visibility for safety and driver comfort and Peterbilt navigation functionality.

Caterpillar Tier 4 engines will not use SCR
Caterpillar’s Tier 4 engine technology will be built on successful ACERT Technology and will include state of the art integrated systems. Caterpillar construction and industrial mobile equipment engines will not use selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to meet upcoming US EPA Tier 4 Interim, European Stage IIIB and Japan MLIT Step 4 mobile off-highway emissions regulations that take effect in the year 2011.

New Foam Captures CO2
Strict emissions regulations planned for Europe has got carmakers across the globe worried about reducing the amount of pollutants their cars produce. Some of the solutions carmakers are investigating include downsizing of vehicles and engines, as well as the development of cleaner fuels, but scientists in the U.S. may have come up with a much better answer. The scientists have developed a new material that resembles foam and has the ability to capture up to 83 times its volume in CO2. The foam also works in high temperatures and pressures, perfect for a car’s exhaust, and can be treated to remove the CO2 so that it can be reused.

Continental self-sealing tyres
Self-sealing tyres from German manufacturer Continental will be rolled-out on the new Volkswagen Passat CC four-door. The tyres feature ContiSeal technology - a protective layer on the inside of the tread that immediately seals holes caused by a screw or nail puncture. The seal works on nearly all leaks caused by objects up to 5 millimeters in diameter.

Ford Mobile Office Gear for Trucks
Realizing that many truck owners use their vehicles as mobile offices, Ford stole a lot of the limelight at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show with a lineup of technologies for its F-Series trucks and E-Series vans that includes an industry-first in-dash computer.
